Now as far as what kind of warlock leveling spec you should be going with, your best bet is to go for an affliction based build, this talent distribution will have you leveling fast:
5/5 Imp Corruption
2/2 Improved Drain Soul
2/2 Soul Siphon
1/2 Improved Life Tap
5/5 Fel Concentration
2/2 Grim Reach
2/2 Nightfall
2/2 Improved Life Tap
1/1 Siphon Life
1/1 Amplify Curse
3/3 Empowered Corruption
5/5 Shadow Mastery
1/1 Dark Pact
5/5 Contagion
2/2 Improved Howl of Terror
1/5 Shadow Embrace
1/1 Curse of Exhaustion
1/1 Unstable Affliction
After allocating these points you will be at around level 52, from here, it doesn’t matter where you put your points next. You may consider going for Bane to up your DPS, or you may get Improved Curse of Agony or Suppression. As far as gear is concerned, make sure you pick up some which gives you a lot of added stamina and shadow damage.
Now as far as what kind of spell rotation you’re going to be using, here’s what you should be following:
1. Send out your Voidwalker to the enemy
2. Use Curse of Agony
3. Use Corruption
4. Use Siphon Life
5. Use Drain Life
6. Upon Nightfall, cast Shadowbolt
7. Renew DOTS and use Lifetap if necessary
Keep this going until you gain access to the Felguard at which point you can sub him in for the Voidwalker.
Now, even after I had all this written out and in front of me as a guideline to go by, things didn’t quite turn out as I expected while I was leveling. I got up to around level 15-20 before I realized…
I was leveling too damn SLOW!
It was crazy, I had done all this research, put it into practice and for some reason it wasn’t enough as the leveling was not going as fast as I had hoped. So what I did was I spoke to a fellow member of my guild who was the resident “power leveler” and asked him for advice. After a little bit of research, I came to find out that this WoW Warlock Guide was not in written form, but actually an add-on that would run within the game. What it does is place a large green arrow in front of your character which constantly points you to the next quest, the next set of monsters to kill or when and where to turn in your quests. By following the arrow, you automatically are on the optimal leveling path.
Now in addition to that, you also see a dialogue box which explains the quest sequence you’re to follow in detail, so you might see:
Kill 10 Spore Harvesters in the Borean Tundra for “Vermin Extermination” at (23,13)
Obtain 10 Tempest Motes from Enraged Tempests for “Motes of the Enraged” at (52,14)
Turn in the “Vermin Extermination” Quest to Scout Tungok
Now as effective as this WoW Warlock Guide was for me, it wasn’t perfect, here were some of the issues I had:
CONS:
- There used to be an HTML version of this guide online which was useful, however this has been taken down for some reason.
- It would be good to have more videos showing how to do the hardest quests in the game, it would also be helpful to have more class specific leveling info.
PROS:
- You have a Map Mod with this add-on that shows you visually on the mini-map what you are to do. In addition to that, you have the dialogue box which shows you your task sequence in written form.
- You also have the giant green arrow to follow in front of you, which stops you from having to think as much when leveling.
- This is not only a WoW Warlock Guide, but a guide for any other class as well.
- This isn’t a cheat or a hack, so you don’t have to worry about Blizzard at all.
- You get access to a members only area as well as lifetime upgrades to the software.
